THE BOURNE IDENTITY
2nd UNIT DIRECTOR - STUNT COORDINATOR - FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHER.
Nick originated and developed the Bourne fighting style.
He choreographed and directed the fight sequences utilizing a mix of Kali, Krav Maga, kickboxing and other styles in a form of cinematic MMA. He won fight choreographer of the year for the apartment fight.
He also directed the end stairwell sequence and wrote and executed the car chase.
CINDERELLA MAN
Stunt Coordinator - Fight and Boxing Choreographer
Originally called in to take over the boxing sequences Nick was soon asked to take over the Stunt Coordinating duties as well. This led to Ron Howard asking Nick to coordinate both Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons
PUSH
2ND UNIT DIRECTOR - STUNT COORDINATOR - FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHER
Nick directed and choreographed all the action on Paul Mcguigan's PUSH in Hong Kong, which included intricate wire work and rigging along with placing the actors inside exciting explosive action set pieces.
GLADIATOR
Sword Master - Fight Choreographer - Asst Stunt Coordinator
Nick was solely responsible for choreographing all of the fight sequences along with training all actors and stuntmen.
He was also assistant coordinator putting together a lot of the opening battle and fire stunts.
OUTCAST
DIRECTOR
Shot on various locations around China, Outcast gave Nick an opportunity to direct the actors Nicolas Cage and Hayden Christensen along with Liu Yifei and Andy On.
In an action driven West meets East period drama Nick shot both main and 2nd unit.

RETRIBUTION
2nd Unit Director - Stunt Coordinator - Fight Choreographer
Resident Evil saw Nick directing the action for Paul Anderson again including the car sequence utilizing the rolls royce along with choreography work on the fights. This was his third time working with Milla Jovovich.
BRAVEHEART
FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHER - SWORD MASTER
Braveheart was Nick's first major feature film break with him training both the stunt team and actors as well as choreographing every fight in the movie. On the back of this Nick was offered major sword work projects such as Zorro but declined so as not to get labelled as a sword specialist.
28 WEEKS LATER
Splinter Unit Director - Stunt Coordinator
Nick was Stunt Coordinator and also directed the splinter unit for Danny Boyle on this genre defining zombie movie.
NACHO LIBRE
2nd Unit Director - Stunt Coordinator - Fight and Wrestling Choreographer
Nacho Libre was shot on location in Oaxaca and Mexico City. Nick choreographed the wrestling, trained Jack Black and was stunt coordinator and 2nd unit director.
THE LAST SAMURAI
Stunt Coordinator - Fight Choreographer
Nick was Stunt Coordinator on both main and 2nd units as well as choreographer of all of the fights. He also trained Tom Cruise on what was the longest production of his career, almost 14 months including 7 months of training and preparation in New Zealand, Japan, and the US.
BLACK SAILS SEASON ONE
2nd Unit Director
Directing most of the action as well as a number of dramatic scenes over the course of all 8 episodes of the first season Nick spent around 4 months in Cape Town on this Starz series.

NICK POWEL

Nick’s work has received twelve Taurus World Stunt Award nominations, winning 5 of them. He also won the fight choreographer of the year for his work on The Bourne Identity where he choreographed and shot all of the fights. Having studied a number of Martial Arts he was a member of the British Wu Shu team  placing 2nd in the European Championships  as well as being London Fencing Champion. Nick began his stunt work in the UK in 1986 after initially training and working as an actor.
